Mott MacDonald conducted a comprehensive review of the Seismic
Safety Case for Hunterston A Power Station for the decommissioning
stage of the station.

This project delivered a seismic review taking into account long
period and short duration seismic events, which had not previously
been considered.
The findings from various degradation studies were also taken into
account in determining the seismic safety case.
The work extended to the review of all civil and structural
elements and all plant items including the reactor building,
pressure vessel, the core and core structure and the steam rising
units.
